On October 3, 2016, father of 3 Donald ‘DJ’ Fickey, Jr. was killed by a shotgun blast to the left side of his face in Flintstone, Georgia. A number of conflicting stories emerged from the onset from the various witnesses at the scene, but one thing was certain among all of them – DJ did not shoot himself. Yet, the assistant medical examiner with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) ruled his death a suicide, when clearly all of the evidence pointed to this being anything but a self-inflicted gunshot wound. So, as it stands, DJ’s case is considered closed and is no longer being investigated. DJ’s sister, Amanda Shirley has been working tirelessly to get anyone and everyone to understand – DJ’s death is a homicide and a killer is walking free.
