Crazy week of development in the Wide World of Wrestling, seeing the kickoff of the Mae Young Classic with some surprise standouts and eliminations, controversy around Sexy Star in AAA Mexico City continues to escalate, and we saw the finals of the WCPW World Cup!
We’ll be in attendance for Day 3 of the Pro Wrestling Guerilla (PWG) Battle of Los Angeles this weekend! Be sure to come join our [bWo] Facebook Group to see some live photos, discussions, and interviews and more from the event!
Yet another limp crowd (that wasn’t Corpus Christi) couldn’t even stop the excitement surrounding story advancement in WWE this week! On Raw, the Intercontinental Championship is finally getting the royal treatment it deserves, Enzo Amore competes in the Cruiserweight Division, and John Cena faced off against Roman Reigns during a contract signing in what can only be described as one of the most interesting and complex burial promos of all-time.
We took some special care to dive into the details of the promo, breaking 4th wall becoming a sort of “new kayfabe,” and what it means now if each wins/loses.
SmackDown Live was all about story advancement this week, with AJ Styles officially re-opening the US Title open challenge, Shelton Benjamin is looking real jacked baby, and WTF is going on with Lana and Tamina? The Main Event of the night was a tag match between Jinder Mahal, Shinsuke Nakamura, Randy Orton, and Rusev that just … doesn’t make a whole lot of sense.
NXT starts with a near-completely clean slate, as we turn over the men’s, women’s and tag championships all at the same time leading to new feuds and new opportunities for all! Roderick Strong gets his rematch against Bobby Roode, Heavy Machinery squashes (literally) two jabronis, and Adam Cole + ReDRagon continue their douchebaggery.
This was an intense week, and we’ve got it all covered here with our special flavor of color commentary! Enjoy!
